An appealing 13mm round snowflake obsidian cabochon set in a stylish sterling silver wire wrap.
The snowflake obsidian is distinguished by the snowflake white marks on the stone, and contrasts perfectly with the sterling silver sculpted design of the pendant.
The pendant is approximately 39mm long and 15mm wide and is a smart, eye-catching addition to anybody’s jewellery collection. It is sure to draw lots of comments.
The chain on which the pendant was photographed is not included.
The technique of wire-wrapping is not new – it dates back to the early Egyptians. Wire-wrapping uses no solder or glues, the wire ends being neatly hidden away wherever possible. Because it is handmade with few tools and no machines, it is a one-off. Although there may be similar pieces, it is virtually impossible for me to repeat a pattern exactly because of the very nature of wire-wrapping.
It is also, by definition, imperfect but that’s part of the beauty.
When looking at the photos, be sure to also refer to the description for the colour, because computer monitors differ so much and can do strange things to colours.
