Description
Stylishly presented in a flowing, beautifully-sculpted sterling silver wire wrap, this oval snowflake obsidian cabochon features the best of the trademark snowflake markings.
The black and white cabochon measures approximately 16mm high and 12mm wide and the pendant overall is about 57mm high and 22mm wide
The characteristic snowflake obsidian is distinguished by the snowflake white marks on the stone, and contrasts perfectly with the sterling silver sculpted design of the pendant.
The chain on which the pendant was photographed is not included.
The technique of wire-wrapping is not new – it dates back to the early Egyptians. Wire-wrapping uses no solder or glues, the wire ends being neatly hidden away wherever possible. Because it is handmade with few tools and no machines, it is a one-off. Although there may be similar pieces, it is virtually impossible for me to repeat a pattern exactly because of the very nature of wire-wrapping.
It is also, by definition, imperfect but that’s part of the beauty.
When looking at the photos, be sure to also refer to the description for the colour, because computer monitors differ so much and can do strange things to colours.
